I’ve been reading up on breath control, Rickson Gracie and how it affects my jiu-jitsu. More than that, I’ve been consciously working on it in class, especially during warm-ups.
Here’s what I’ve found: I’m not good at it. In trying to exhale all of my breath, I overcompensate and end up more or less out of breath and light-headed.
This is going to take some time to figure out. Time to talk to my instructors about it.
